Historic Oakview Park
Our class visited Oakview Historical Park on September 13 to look at the history of agricultural life in early North Carolina. Oakview is a plantation with a rich history of cotton, tobacco, and pecan crops. We learned about the changes in North Carolina over time as we viewed a small cabin, a separate kitchen, and a cotton museum. We made butter, used a washboard and seeded cotton. It was quite an educational experience for the students.
